बात 1985-86  की है ।मुझे आज भी याद है। वह वाक्य जब मैं कक्षा 7 में पढ़ता था। गांव से 8 किलोमीटर दूर पैदल चलकर विदिशा पढ़ने जाता था।   कच्चा  रास्ता था। बरसात के दिनों में रेलवे लाइन के किनारे से पैदल रास्ता जाता था। जो उस समय सभी आसपास के गांव के लोग शहर जाने के लिए उपयोग करते थे। उस समय पैसेंजर ट्रेन में भाप के इंजन चलते थे। मैं सुबह ही जल्दी स्कूल की खाकी कलर की नेकर और सफेद शर्ट पहन कर गांव से पीठ पर बसता ला देता ।और चल देता कभी-कभी सराय स्टेशन से पैसेंजर ट्रेन मिल जाती तो 4 किलोमीटर की दूरी कम हो जाती। एक दिन मुझे ट्रेन का इंतजार करते-करते लगभग एक घंटा बीत गया ट्रेन और लेट होती जा रही थी। मुझे अब स्कूल जाने के समय में देर हो जाने और क्लास में पिटाई और ऐप सेंड लगने की चिंता होने लगी। मैं ट्रेन के बजाय पैदल ही बड़ी तेजी से चल दिया अभी ट्रेन के होम सिंगल पूछा था ।कि ट्रेन के आने का एहसास हुआ पलट कर देखा तो पैसेंजर ट्रेन स्टेशन पर खड़ी होने वाली थी। अब सोचने लगा कि अच्छा होता कि मैं वहीं रुका रहता मैंने तुरंत ट्रेन की तरफ दौड़ लगा दी  ट्रेन चल दी। फिर भी मैं ट्रेन की दिशा में डाउन ट्रैक पर दौड़ा जा रहा था। ट्रेन मेरी तरफ और ट्रेन के किनारे बने कच्चे रास्ते से ट्रेन की तरफ मैं पसीने में नहा चुका था। लेकिन मेरा हौसला बुलंद था ।मैंने हार नहीं मानी थी। ट्रेन गति पकड़ने लगी थी ।इंजन करता मेरे पास आ चुका था। मैं उदासी के समंदर में डूबने वाला था। कि ट्रेन के ड्राइवर ने इंजन से बाहर जाकर हंसते हुए मुझे इशारे से पूछा बैठना है। मेरे होठों पर खुशी में सिर हिलाया ड्राइवर साहब ने जब तक मैं ट्रेन नहीं छटा तब तक वह इंजन में जाकर मेरी ओर देखते रहे ।और लोग भी देख रहे थे ।मैंने बहुत दिनों तक खुश होकर सभी को यही दास्तान सुनाएं ।जमाना नया हो या पुराना ,  भले  लोग पहले भी थे ।और हमेशा रहेंगे।
